407th Post Jesus Said On His Rejection and Death Con't. - John 13: 18 - 19.

John 13: 18 - 19
I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, "He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me." Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I am He.
This was spoken by Jesus the night He was to be betrayed in the upper room. The Gospel of John was written, by John to show that Jesus is the Son of God, and the Messiah. This account should help prove that Jesus was not just an ordinary man. If you read the text, Jesus is fulfilling prophecy and proclaiming prophecy at the same time. Jesus mentions the lifting up his heel against Me; this comes from the book of Genesis starting with Chapter 3: 15. This text is also prophecy by Jesus, and we know this by looking at the phrase "Now I tell you before it comes... ." This prophecy in Genesis was over 3,000 years old at the time of Christ. The Bible is the Word of God, and God does keep His Word! If you look at this text, Jesus says "He knows whom He has chosen." Judas is the one who will betray Jesus. Notice Jesus ties him to the Old Testament Prophecy. This is why Jesus had to let him join His group, Jesus being God, had to know that Judas would ultimately betray Him.
