283rd Post Jesus Said on the Kingdom of God Con't. - Perceiving the Kingdom Con't.

Matthew 13: 11 - 17; Mark 4: 11 - 12, 4:25; Luke 8:10, 18 continued.
Jesus had just told the parable of the Talents, the disciples asked for Jesus to explain the parable to them. Jesus told them that like the servants made a choice to do something with their talents, so do the people listening to His words. They can either take them to heart and put His words into practice, or they can just sit and listen and be entertained by what takes place, and not be moved to really follow Jesus. To understand the difference, you need to know the Gospels and understand why the crowd could wave their Palm Branches with shouts of acclamation one day, and wave their clenched fists and yell curses at Jesus, less than a week later. They saw, but did not see, they heard but did not understand. The disciples saw and had Jesus to explain things to them. We have the Holy Spirit to help us to see and to understand. Just like the disciples, we sometimes need someone to explain God's Truth to us. If you ask God through the Holy Spirit to open your eyes, He will do so. Man can lie to you, God can not! If you seek the truth, you will find it!

Now the last part of this passage, talks about the people in the Old Testament, they heard or read the promises, they understood and believed; but they died before God could fulfill the prophecies. These people would be jealous of the disciples because they could actually see and hear and understand. Do you believe yet??
