288th Post Jesus Said Promises To Followers, Authority Con't. - John 15: 16

John 15:16 Jesus spoke this in the Upper Room on Maundy Thursday evening.
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
Jesus spoke these words to His disciples just before He was to be arrested. This is a hard concept for most Christians to grasp, because it seems to fly into the face of their belief in free choice. It is easy to come to because they believe that God's Will and and our free choice are contingent on one another. God does not wait around for us to make a move and then He moves depending on what our move was. God's Will is constant, it is our will that changes as we get to know God better. Free choice is always there, because we can either do as God commands, or do something else. As we grow in our relationship with God, our willingness to do the will of God increases, so we change our will to match that of the will of God. Before you were chosen, you were in the world and thought as the world thinks. You were living contrary to God, because you did not know any better. God chose you, and started to tell you what His Will is. He did this through reading the Bible, going to Church and attending Bible Studies. You still have the free choice to do or not do according to what you learn. Are you living for God? It is not too late to start.
