368th Post Jesus On Harsh Words for the Religious System Con't. - John 3: 10 - 13.

John 3: 10 - 13 Jesus Night Meeting with Nicodemus.
Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify that We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.
This meeting was at the very beginning of Jesus' earthly ministry, several days after the Wedding in Canna, but this meeting is in Jerusalem. Nicodemus gets a lot of negative press for coming to Jesus at night; hopefully this post will make you cut him some slack. Jesus was teaching in the Temple in Jerusalem, Nicodemus was there and heard what He said. False Messiah's had already been plentiful up to this time. I believe Nicodemus, being a Pharisee had a lot to lose if he was seen with Jesus. This is why Nicodemus came to Him at night. Nicodemus calls Jesus a teacher, because no one could do and say what you do unless the Lord be with Him. This shows that Nicodemus thought Jesus was somebody special. Our text starts right after Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be born again. Clearly Nicodemus did not understand what Jesus meant, Nicodemus was old and he thought he would have to crawl back into his mother's womb. I am running out of room so I will continue next post.
