379th Post Jesus On Laments for the Cities of Israel Con't. - John 8: 43 - 47.

John 8: 43 - 47.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!"
This was spoken by Jesus toward the end of His earthly ministry. Jesus reminded the people that their ancestors killed or stoned all the prophets God sent to correct their understanding of God. Jesus talks about how a hen gathers her chicks to save them from harm; so He, as God forgives them of their past sins, but they would not listen. Now they have rejected Jesus, and so rejected God to His face, and would not repent; because of this their house has been left desolate. Jesus then tells them that they will not see Jesus in Jerusalem until He returns on Palm Sunday ( the triumphant entry). Jerusalem was where the Temple was located, all of Israel was to come to the Temple at least 3 feast days each year. To whom much is given, much is required. Jerusalem had seen many mighty works of God in the past, but had forgotten them. Are you like Jerusalem??
