469th Post Jesus Good Friday - My Comments 2nd Post.

In our last post the unblemished lamb received the sinner's sins and had its throat cut and the blood collected. Before taking this blood into the Temple to be sprinkled on the "Mercy Seat", the priest had another animal ready.  Why is this necessary??  When the sinner transferred his sin to the lamb, the lamb then became sin, and would no longer be the unblemished lamb, so the sin then had to be transferred to make it unblemished again.  This is the part of the Good Friday message that I believe is not taught enough today.  Before the priest could take the blood into the Temple he must first transfer the sin again, this is where the scapegoat comes in.  The scapegoat represents the curse of the sin.  The priest would then wipe his blood stained hands from the lamb onto the back of the scapegoat, thus transferring the sin off the lamb and onto the goat.  The goat would then be driven out of the camp, and destroyed.  This is what was done in the Old Testament, but what does this have to do with Jesus and Good Friday??  Hopefully I will be able to answer that next post.
