John 14: 1 - 4.
Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.
This was spoken by Jesus the night of His betrayal in the upper room. This should be one of a Christian's favorite verses in the Bible. Very clearly Jesus tells His believer's where they will spend eternity, when they die. Jesus makes it very clear, that we will be with Him in Heaven. What is meant by "mansions"? This word in English conjurers up visions of lavish estates on a street with fine trimmed lawns. God being God, could do this with out any trouble. But is this what Jesus meant when He used the word (meno, or mene). The Strong's number is (3438, 3306). The word seems to mean safe and protected, and long term, in its meaning.
