485th Post Jesus Predictions Con't. - Predictions concerning His Coming in Glory - Matthew 16: 27 - 28. 3.

Matthew 16: 27 - 28; Mark 9: 1; Luke 9: 27.
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.
This was spoken by Jesus about 1.1/2 years into His earthly ministry. Jesus spoke these shortly before Jesus' Transfiguration. It is a matter of debate exactly what time Jesus was referring to when He said, "there are some of you standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom." You could make a case for the Transfiguration, except only a small number of disciples were allowed to witness this happening. I don't believe Jesus was talking about His Second Coming, because that would make the disciples over 2,000 years old. Jesus would come into His Glory when He defeats death by Rising from the Dead on Easter. Jesus would ascend into Heaven 40 days after Jesus rose from the dead. The disciples and some other followers were allowed to witness this event. This is what I believe He meant when He said that some would not taste death until the Lord Ascended into Heaven from the Mount of Olives. Angels will tell the disciples that Jesus would return, the same way He left, when Jesus ascends into Heaven.
