The last part of this passage deals with the punishment to be given out for not complying to the full extent of the task given.  There are two types of punishment given out.  The unfaithful steward is treated as a nonbeliever and the steward who was not proficient in his task because of lack of knowledge will receive few stripes.  The steward that knew, and yet did not comply will be beaten with many stripes.  Look at this passage carefully, there are three punishments given to the ones that do not comply.  The First: "And will cut him in two and appoint his portion with the unbelievers."  Second: "And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes."  Third: But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving many stripes, shall be beaten with few.  To whom much is given much is required.  I believe I am finally finished with this passage.
